Sherri Frye is in her fourth year as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).

Her duties at Northern Colorado include the oversight of student-athlete welfare/support service areas, business and personnel issues and gender equity and minority issues. She also oversees the media relations office as well as the sports of women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, swimming & diving, volleyball and wrestling.

Frye has been instrumental in helping with NCAA certification, the department's strategic plan, as well as the policies and procedures manual.

Frye came to Northern Colorado after spending four years at Portland State University. With the Vikings, Frye served as Senior Associate Athletics Director and SWA.

Frye served on the Big Sky site visit committee which brought her to the Bears' campus in February 2005 when the Big Sky Conference was considering Northern Colorado for admission into the league. Northern Colorado become a full-fledged member of the Big Sky Conference on July 1, 2006.

Frye joined Portland State from Washington State University where she held the title of Director of Events and Operations. There, she was responsible for all competitive events, including championships and athletic facilities. She served as the 1997 NCAA Division I Volleyball National Championship Tournament Manager and before departing served as the co-Director of the 2001 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Regional.

A former basketball student-athlete at the University of Wyoming, Frye worked as an assistant women's basketball coach at St. Francis College (PA) for one season as the team reached the conference tournament championship game. Frye made the move to administrator at Washington State in 1993.

Frye graduated from Wyoming in 1992 with a degree in Fitness Leadership. A native of Cheyenne, Wyo., Sherri and her husband, Cody, have two boys, Jay (11) and Justin (9).
