PHILOSOPHY
The primary objective set forth is to aid each student - athlete in
reaching their full athletic potential through a comprehensive
approach to training. This approach will not only improve the
athlete's performance, but also reduce the possibility of injury to
musculature areas prone to injury. Training regimens will
also take into consideration specific energy systems, specific
movements, and specific agilities to each sport as well.
An array of training modalities will be employed in the
enhancement of the athlete's abilities. In addition, various
types of the periodization concept as well as a multitude of
lifting techniques and exercises will be used in creating the
specific programs for each specific sport as well as personalized
programs where needed.
Linear & lateral speed, agility, range of motion, strength,
power, and work threshold will be developed in every athlete.
Mental toughness will be derived out of the workouts as well in
order to improve the athlete's concentration and resolve to triumph
even when faced with a discouraging situation.
Mental toughness, drive, and accountability will be derived over
the course of the athletes' career. Physical improvement will be
evident as well as the resolve to be successful in all aspects of
life.

strength coach and the maximum performance of the student-athlete.
Internships at UNC are currently on a volunteer basis with no
benefits or compensation provided. The Internship program at UNC is
designed to be highly interactive and beneficial. Successful
candidates will be required to maintain 15-30 hours each week
depending upon the internship's specifications. The student-intern
will be expected to complete any and all responsibilities given to
them by their supervisors.
Student-interns must be committed to the field of Strength &
