Stevens Clears 5-8.5 For Seventh

NORMAN, Okla. -- On the final day of competition at the NCAA Midwest Track & Field Regionals, Northern Colorado junior Rachael Stevens cleared 5-8.5 to finish seventh in the high jump.

Stevens cleared 5-8.5, her second highest of the season, on her third attempt for seventh place. The top five finishers advance to the NCAA Championship. Texas junior Destinee Hooker won the event at 6-3.25 and is one of the favorites for the NCAA title.

Stevens finished second at the Big Sky Championship after clearing a season-best 5-8.75. She and junior Justine Sandersfeld, who placed 18th in the 400 meters on Friday, were the only two Bears competitors at regionals this season.
