Stevens Advances To NCAA Championship

GREELEY, Colo. - The NCAA announced late Tuesday the
student-athletes who received at-large berths into the NCAA
Division I Track & Field Championships and Northern Colorado
junior Rachael Stevens was one who has her ticket punched to
Fayetteville.
Stevens finished seventh in the high jump at the NCAA Midwest
Regional after clearing 5-8.5 and earned the right to compete in
the NCAA Championship after two student-athletes who finished ahead
of her withdrew from high jump competition to concentrate in other
events.
Stevens is the first female student-athlete since the school
joined the Division I ranks to advance to the NCAA Championship,
which will be held June 10-13 at the University of Arkansas.
Several wrestlers have competed on the men's side for the Bears.
She is also one of 11 Big Sky Conference athletes who will be
competing and the only representative in the high jump.
The high jump preliminaries are scheduled for Wednesday, June 10
at 5:30 p.m. Central, while finals are set to begin on Friday, June
12 at 4:00 p.m. Central.
