Stevens Clears 5-7
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Becoming the first-ever track & field
student-athlete at Northern Colorado to qualify for the NCAA
Division I Championship is quite an accomplishment for Rachael
Stevens.
Clearing the opening height with butterflies bounding in her
stomach is another. Stevens, a junior from MacPherson, Kan.,
cleared the bar at 5-7 on her second attempt, then missed all three
attempts at 5-8.50 to finish tied for 22nd.
Stevens is the first track & field student-athlete to
compete at nationals at the Division I level and the fourth this
season to advance as Justin Gaethje, Tony Mustari and Mitchell
Polkowske all represented the Bears at the NCAA Wrestling
Championships earlier this year.
