As part of his being named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Northern Colorado football player Michael Van Portfliet and his father were flown to New Orleans to participate in events surrounding the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Van Portfleit and several other members of the Good Works Team, as well as 300 Allstate agents and employees participated in a clean-up initiative in the Oak Park neighborhood of New Orleans.

Van Portfliet was also highlighted in a video tribute that aired at the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2, as well as nationally on the FOX Sports television broadcast of the game. The website link above highlights each of the 22 members of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
