- Safety Stephen Michon recovered a Weber State fumble in the
first quarter, the first of the season for the junior and the
second of his career.
- Freshman punter Cameron Kaman boomed an 80-yard punt on his
second of the day, tying the school record by Don Geist vs South
Dakota in 1982. His first punt of the afternoon went 50-yards.
Kaman ended the day with nine punts for 413 yards.
- Sophomore safety Max Hewitt blocked a punt, the fourth block of
the season for the Bears and the first of his career.
- Sophomore left end Ethan Davis and redshirt freshman left
tackle Dominique Ceja combined for a sack, for a seven-yard loss,
the first career sack for both players.
- Senior linebacker Cristian Sarmento forced his third fumble of
the season, while Martin Awachie recovered the second of his career
and first this year.
- Sarmento notched two sacks in the first half, bringing his
season total to six and 11 for his career.
- Sarmento moved into the Big Sky Conference record books in
total tackles in the first half of play, notching 10 tackles to
move him into 10th place ahead of Tyler Joyce from
Montana (2004-07). He ended the game with 17 tackles, bringing his
three year Big Sky total to 292 and his career tally over the 300
milestone at 310. It is the fifth time in Sarmento's career he has
had 15 or more tackles in a contest and he now ranks ninth on the
school's career charts.
- Senior cornerback Myles Hayes recorded a career-best 10 tackles
in the game, bettering his previous career high of eight from last
season at Montana.
- Hayes intercepted the third pass of his career and the third
this year with 6:34 remaining in the game. It is just the sixth
time this year WSU quarterback Cameron Higgins has been intercepted
this season. Hayes' 36-yard return is the second-longest this
season for NC, behind the 70-yard return he had against Northern
Arizona.
- Junior corner Quincy Wofford had the Bears' third fumble
recovery of the day. It is also the first of his career.
- Northern Colorado continued to show it's the best red zone
defense in the league, as the Bears held Weber State to 1-for-4
inside the 20-yard line, bringing the season percentage to 65.4 as
team's have scored 17 times on 26 attempts.
