Men's Golf Announces 2008-09 Schedule

GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado men's golf coach Chuck Scheinost today announced the team's 2008-09 schedule.

The Bears will compete in 10 tournaments and one dual against instate rival Colorado State during the fall and spring seasons, including the second America Sky Conference Championship. This year's conference meet will take place in Cape Cod, Mass., at the Ballymeade Country Club in conjunction with the Hartford Hawks Intercollegiate meet.

The season begins Sept. 6-7 in Colorado Springs at the annual Gene Miranda Invitational on the Eisenhower Golf Course on the campus of the Air Force Academy. Two weeks later the Bears will take the links at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Course in Denver. There are three more team tournaments to conclude the fall season, including the conference championship.

Spring begins with the dual against the Rams in Florence, Ariz., and the Bears will have two more tournaments in California, one in Kansas and conclude the year at the Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.

Scheinost returns five off last year's team, including America Sky All-Conference selection Stephen Bidne, who was named the league's co-newcomer of the year.
