Men's Golf Loses To CSU In Modified Match Play

FLORENCE, Ariz. - The men's golf season got underway Saturday
afternoon with a dual modified match-play formula against
15th-ranked Colorado State. The Bears lost that match
79-12.
Sophomore Steve Bidne paced the Bears carding a 145 (73-72),
while Rich Lash shot 154 (75-79) and Kory Harrell each tallied a
157. Alberto Dell'Anna shot rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162 total,
Kevin Collignon carded a 163 (82-81) and Ryan Boshoven was one
stroke behind him with a 164 (82-82).
"This was a great experience for our team," said Head Coach
Chuck Scheinost. "Not only did we play one of the top teams in the
country but we were able to get outside early in the spring without
the stress of a full-blown tournament. We need to work on the short
game, but will do so before competing in the Rice Tournament next
week. The team put out a good effort today, but were out-matched by
a very good team in Colorado State."
Northern Colorado competes in its first spring tournament, Feb.
16-17 at the Rice Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas.
