Men's Golf Tied For 12th After Day One

HOUSTON, Texas - The Northern Colorado men's golf
team started play in its first tournament of the spring on Monday
at the Rice Intercollegiate, located in Southwest Houston. The
Bears are tied for 12th in the 15 team tournament,
carding a 611 after the first two rounds of play.
Sophomore Steve Bidne led the Bears once again shooting 145 (71,
74) finishing the day tied for eighth through the first two rounds
of play. Ryan Boshoven finished the first two rounds tallying
a score of 151 (76, 75) while Rich Lash finished the first day with
157 (77, 80). Alberto Dell' Anna also carded a 160 (81,79)
and Kory Harrell shot a 164 (86,78).
"We struggled a little bit," said Head Coach Chuck Scheinost.
"We shot rounds of 305 and 306, which isn't our, best but it's not
horrible for our first full event of the spring. Steve played two
great rounds today and held us up in terms of team score. The
guys battled hard today but we made a few mistakes in the tough
windy conditions. We're moving in the right direction."
The Bears hope to get one more solid round tomorrow and make
their way up the standings by the end of the day. The final
round tees off at 8:30 on Tuesday at the Westwood Golf Club.
