STEVINSON, Calif. - The Northern Colorado men's golf team finished off the CU-Stevinson Ranch Invitational on Tuesday in 15^th place carding a final score of 927 (312, 302, 313).  The Bears faced some difficult competition in this tournament including the host team, University of Colorado, who is currently ranked 47^th in the nation.

Leading the Bears in the end was sophomore Steve Bidne at 14 over for the tournament.  After carding a difficult 82 in the first round Bidne fought back to come up even in the second round at 72.  In the final round the sophomore would card a 76 placing giving him an overall score of 230 and leaving him tied for 55^th in the tournament.

 "Steve led us shooting even in the second round but we struggled across the board for most of this tournament and we just need to find a way to get better," Northern Colorado Head Coach Chuck Scheinost said.

Just one stroke behind Bidne was senior Rich Lash who stayed fairly consistent throughout the two days of play.  Lash finished with a final tally of 231 (76, 77, 78) and left the tournament tied in 57^th.

Next in the rankings for the Bears and finding himself just one stroke behind Lash was freshman Kory Harrell.  Harrell shot the most consistent of the team carding a 78 in round one and putting up a 77 in both rounds two and three.  The freshman finished the tournament tied for 63^rd with a 16 over 232.

Sophomore Alberto Dell'Anna finished the tournament in 85^th with an overall score of 242 (76, 84, 82), and redshirt sophomore Ryan Boshoven finished the tournament in 86^th with a final tally of 249 (88, 76, 85).

Taking the top team spot in the tournament was Nevada who shot a five over 869 (292, 288, 289) while the individual winner of the invitational was the University of Colorado's Pat Grady who had an impressive tournament carding an 8 under 208 (69, 68, 71).

The Bears will have a couple of weeks off before they will play again in the Fossum Invitational on April 25-26 in East Lansing, Mich.
