Men's Golf Clinches Third Place In Conference Championship

FULL RESULTS
CAPE COD, Mass. - Northern Colorado men's golf rallied in the
second day at the America Sky Conference championship to clinch
third place on Tuesday after finishing in sixth after day one.
The tournament was shortened and delayed due to the arrival of
Hurricane Kyle on the east coast. The 36 hole tournament finished
with the Bears shooting 609, one stroke behind second place.
"I am very pleased," head coach Chuck Scheinost said, "It was a
rough tournament to get started with the practice round becoming
the first round because of weather."
Sophomore Steve Bidne finished in the top spot for the Bears
finishing two under par on the second day rebounding from the 80 he
shot on day one. Bidne finished in eight place with a scorfe of 150
in the 35 player field.
Finishing just behind Bidne was freshman Kory Harrell who tied
for ninth place with a final score of 151. Harrell scored 78 on the
first day and 73 on the second day.
Fellow Big Sky team Sacramento State finished in the top spot
with the Hornets recording a team score of 589.
In was Brian Albertazzi of Hartford who clinched first place
with a score of 141, three under par.
The Bears will no move on to compete in the Wyoming Desert
Classic on Oct. 4 and 5 in Pal Desert, Calif.
