Men's tennis gets past Washington College (Md.)

College (Md.)
GREELEY -- The Northern Colorado men’s
tennis team earned its second victory of the season Friday, March
13, with a 4-3 decision against Washington College (Md.).
The Bears (2-12, 1-5) have now doubled their win total from last
season.
NC’s No.1 doubles tandem of Adam Perez and Calix Van Lier
swept past Washington’s top squad of Andrew Haux and Brian
Cedrowski, 8-0.
However, the Bears failed to earn the doubles point.
In singles action, Calix Van Lier (No. 1) defeated
Washington’s Adam Cranford in a 6-4, 6-2 victory, and Clay
Mundell (No. 4) continued the momentum with a quick 6-1, 6-4 win
against Cedrowski.
Jordan Boecker (No. 3) achieved his first singles win of the
season in a hard fought 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 come back victory over Todd
Green.
Perez (No. 2) then sealed the Bears triumph in a three-set
thriller when he defeated Aaron Ellison 6-2, 6-7 (7-4), 6-1.
The Bears will look to continue their winning ways when they
travel to take on Santa Clara at noon on Sunday, March 15.
