Braves too much for Bears

RESULTS: vs. Bradley

GREELEY, Colo. -- The Northern Colorado men’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to nonconference opponent Bradley on Friday, March 20, at the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts.

The Bears (2-19, 1-6) started the day strong with a No. 3-doubles victory from Jordan Boecker and Andy Green, who defeated BU’s Trevor McGrath and Richard Robertson 8-6.

However, the Bears top doubles tandem of Adam Perez and Calix Van Lier came up short against BU’s Calien Fraychineaud and Milos Romic, losing 9-7, and the doubles point went to the Braves.

In singles action, Green (No. 5) gained Northern Colorado's only point of the day when he overcame BU’s Robertson in a strong 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 win.

NC’s Andre Lepine (No. 6) gave a strong effort against BU’s Mitch Osborne but fell in a tight 7-5, 7-6 (9-7) decision.

The Bears will finish up their season when they host Big Sky Conference opponent Montana at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 5, at the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts.
