Nelson, Dougherty help women's golf to seventh at Shocker Invite
Sophmore Ali Nelson and junior Emily Dougherty finish tied for 21st on Tuesday at the Wichita State Shocker Invitational, and Northern Colorado comes in seventh as a team at the par-72 two-round tournament at Sand Creek Station.
Freshman Silvers again leads women's golf
Freshman Carleigh Silvers (Martinsville, Ind.) was Northern Colorado's top individual finisher Tuesday at the CU Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at Colorado National Golf Club. She shot a 2-over-par 74 in round three to finish tied for 42nd with a three-round total of 233 (+17).
Silvers sisters lead the way for women's golf in Denver
Carleigh Silvers, a freshman from Martinsville, Ind., and Chelsea Silvers, a sophomore, shot identical 240 three-day totals during the tournament at Highlands Ranch Golf Club to finish tied for 47th overall. The Bears finished 12th as a team, coming in ahead of Big Sky-rival Montana State.
