The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has released its list of team academic winners for the 2007-08 seasons which included Northern Colorado.

A total of 363 teams were honored with the award which required that a team post an average team GPA of a 3.0 or higher. Northern Colorado finished the academic year with a 3.15. There were only two other Big Sky teams on the list, Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona.

Northern Colorado alumnae Marika Johnson and current graduate assistant coach was a member of the 2007-08 team. She was honored with a place on the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first team in 2007 after earning a 3.84 GPA.
