Bears soccer fell to UNLV 3-1 on Thursday in the first of two games this weekend. The lass drops Northern Colorado to 5-6 on the season, while the Rebels improved to 8-2-1.

All through the first half the game remained scoreless with freshman goalkeeper Kirsten Salminen recording two saves. It was not until the 54th minute of action that UNLV's Ashleigh Shoughro came out of a scramble to put the Rebels up 1-0.

Ten minutes later Niki Connolley dribbled into the box to score the game winning goal to put the score at 2-0 for UNLV.

A short time later it was Rebel midfielder Brianna Moore who scored from 20 yards out bringing the score to 3-0 at 67:08.

Freshman Ariel Cook scored the lone goal for the Bears 40 second later to put the final score at 3-1.

Northern Colorado will now travel to Cedar City, Utah to face Southern Utah on Sept. 27.
