Borman Honored For Academics


GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado junior Katey Borman was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District 7 Second Team.

Borman, a junior defender from Corvallis, Ore., is a mathematics major with an emphasis in secondary teaching. She sports a 3.87 grade point average and helped the Bears to a 6-10-1 record this season.

She played in 16 of the 17 games on the year, taking one shot on goal and helping hold opponents to 22 goals in 17 games. Borman is a also two-time Big Sky All-Academic Team selection.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
