SKY RELEASE
OGDEN, Utah -- The Big Sky Conference announced the
All-Conference team this week which included seven Northern
Colorado student athletes.
Senior Marcie Johnson was named to the Second Team after
tallying four goals in conference play this season, including two
goals against Northern Arizona in the Bears last game of 2009.
Joining her on the second team is sophomores Ariel Cook and Kimmie
Feidler.
Cook led the Bears with five goals and 11 points and also scored
the other two goals in the final game of the season. Cook also
started in all 17 games for the Bears.
Feidler ended the season with two goals and three assists, the
last of which came in the Bears 4-0 win over Eastern Washington.
The Bears also had four players named to the honorable mention
team in freshman Alexys Tamayo, senior Sydney VanderVelde, junior
Brittani Knott and freshman Laura Wayland.
Tamayo scored two goals in 17 starts, while VandeVelde had three
assists and 12 shots on goal. Knott started in all 17 games,scoring
one goal with nine shots on goal. Wayland started in all 17 games
as well, getting two shots on goal.
