Schoepflin Named ESPN The Magazine All-District


GREELEY, Colo. - For the second consecutive season, Northern Colorado softball player Jessica Schoepflin has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII First Team.

Schoepflin, a junior from Arvada, Colo., sports a 3.93 grade point average in visual communication and design. Schoepflin will now be forwarded to the Academic All-American ballot with the other first team honorees from the eight districts.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), be a sophomore or higher in academic standing, have completed at least one year at their current institution and be a starter or key reserve.

Schoepflin played in all 50 games this season for head coach Jennifer Schunke, starting in 48. She hit .304 for the year with 48 hits, including five doubles and two triples, extending her career record to 13. She also led the team with 19 walks and 15 stolen bases as the team posted a record of 18-32, breaking the school record for Division I wins in a season.
