Swimming & Diving Announces 2009-10 Schedule

Complete Schedule
GREELEY, Colo. - In her first season as head coach at Northern
Colorado, Kelly McClanahan did not shy away from a tough schedule
for the swimming & diving program.
The Bears kickoff the season with a Blue & Gold scrimmage on
Sept. 25 and host an alumnae meet on Oct. 10 during Homecoming Week
festivities. Both of the regular season meets hosted in the
Butler-Hancock Pool will come against Mountain West competition as
the Bears host Colorado State on Nov. 6 and San Diego State on Jan.
30.
"This is a very challenging schedule," said Head Coach Kelly
McClanahan. "We have several winnable meets on the docket and are
looking forward to pushing ourselves against some of the best teams
in the nation. Every meet we compete in will help us prepare for
one of the toughest conference meets in the country in Conference
USA."
The first three competitions of the year will also come against
Mountain West foes as Oct. 23 Northern Colorado takes on the Air
Force Academy and TCU in Colorado Springs. Oct. 29 the Bears will
compete in the New Mexico Relays before taking on New Mexico State
and Northern Arizona the next two days in Las Cruces.
NC also faces Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Nebraska and
East Carolina throughout the season.
For the third straight year, Northern Colorado will be an
associate member of Conference USA, swimming at the conference
championships in Houston Feb. 24-27. The team also returns to
Florida for winter training during the break between semesters
after a one-year hiatus.
