SOME STORY LINES:

• NC is somewhat slumping as it travels east this weekend, but the Bears are far from frustrated. They finished 1-2 at their home tourney last weekend, but one loss was a 3-2 nailbiter to NDSU and the other was by six points total against Miami (Fla.).

• This weekend’s tourney is the second homecoming this season for a Northern Colorado player. Ashley Lichtenberg (Bettendorf, Iowa) joins Taylor Smith (Denton, Texas) who had a homecoming previously at North Texas’ tournament.

• The Bears have never faced the Bulldogs, but they have played Iowa and Iowa State one time each. Northern Colorado is 0-1 against both, with the loss to the Hawkeyes coming in 2007 and the defeat to the Cyclones coming in 2005.

• Northern Colorado is 12-12 in the last three seasons in tournament play. The Bears went 2-8 at three tournaments in 2007, 6-1 at tourneys in 2008 and 4-3 in two tournaments so far this season.
