With Eastern Washington and Portland up this week, Northern
Colorado might have fallen victim to “looking ahead”
last week against Montana and Montana State. Didn’t happen,
though, and now the Bears get the Eagles and Viks.
Both this weekend’s matches have been circled on Northern
Colorado’s calendar since the summer, and, of course, this
weekend shapes up as a potential program-changer for the Bears. Two
wins, and NC is in prime conference-title shape.
Northern Colorado has just two conference wins in four seasons
against the Eagles and the Viks. Those are the fewest for the Bears
against any of the other Big Sky Conference programs.
This trip figures to offer Northern Colorado a preview of what
to expect in two weeks during the Big Sky Conference tournament. NC
secured a berth in that field last week and will head back to
Cheney on Thanksgiving Thursday.
