Nov. 11, 2009 Benson Signs Three GREELEY, Colo. -- University of Northern
Colorado head volleyball coach Lyndsey Benson today announced the
signing of three players to National Letters of Intent for the 2010
season.
Donne' Elcock, Bri Strong and Alyssa Wilson have
all committed to the hottest team on campus as the Bears embark on
the last regular season trip tied for first place in the Big Sky
Conference standings.
"We are very excited about our 2010 class," said
Coach Benson. "They are a very athletic group. All three of them
come to us with a huge ceiling, a lot of room for growth. They will
each uphold all of the qualities we look for in a recruit; good
student, good character, competitive drive and a desire to take UNC
Volleyball to the next level."

Donne' Elcock, 5-10, MB, Longmont, Colo.
(Skyline HS)
Elcock helped lead the Falcons to an eighth-place finish
at state as a junior and the team is currently 16-10... She has
earned three letters each in volleyball and track & field as
well as one in basketball... As a sophomore in 2007, earned
all-conference honors in track and has spent the last three years
as a member of the honor roll... Plays club volleyball for NORCO,
where they advanced to the Junior Olympics last year.
"Donne' is an athlete in every sense of the
word," said Benson. "She jumps out of the gym and is very quick.
She will fit in well with our style of offense. She has a huge
ceiling because she is still fairly new to the game. She is really
going to take off as a volleyball player when she can focus on it
year round. We are glad to keep such a talent in-state."

| Brianna Strong, 6-2, MB/RS, Mount Vernon, Iowa (Mount
Vernon HS)
Strong was named to the second-team all-conference as a
sophomore and junior and first-team this season... She is also a
three-time first-team all-district and two-time second-team
all-state pick for the Mustangs... Is a 2009 Senior Aces selection
by prepvolleyball.com and was named to the IGCA Senior Select
All-Star Team... Also plays basketball, where she was a second-team
all-conference pick last year, and competes in track & field...
Is hitting .423 in her senior campaign with 1.85 kills per game and
has helped lead Mount Vernon to back-to-back conference
championships as well as the state runner-up titles in both 2008
and 2009.
"Bri brings a lot of experience from playing with a good club
team," Benson stated. "She has good size and great hands which
makes her a very solid blocker. She still has a lot of room for
growth in her career. She has the potential to be one of the best
middles to wear a UNC uniform."

| Alyssa Wilson, 6-1, OH, Clinton, Okla. (Clinton HS)
Wilson was recently named the 4A State Tournament MVP
after leading the Tornados to the state title with a record of
28-9... She was also an all-state selection after notching 575
kills on the year... As a junior she was a member of the State
All-Tournament Team and was the Delta Conference MVP... She is
graduating in the top 10% of her class and plays for the Oklahoma
Charge Volleyball Club, which finished ninth at nationals last
year... She also plays basketball and competes in track & field
at Clinton.
"Alyssa is the total package," quoted Benson. "She has size,
athleticism and good ball control skills. She reminds me a lot of
Kenzie Shreeve. She needs a little bit more experience but she is
going to have a tremendous career. She is really a steal for us and
we're so excited to call her a Bear."
